The Best BJJ Gyms in San Francisco, California

The Gracie name is well represented in San Francisco. Ralph Gracie Jiu Jitsu has academies in SoMa and the Sunset, and the SoMa one is the most reviewed gym in the city on Google, with Empire Jiu Jitsu in the Mission and Romulo Melo Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on Nob Hill next. Charles Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy is here too. Alliance trains up on Cathedral Hill, 10th Planet has a gym just over the city line in Daly City, and you won't find many MMA gyms.

The Sunset and the Mission have the most gyms, and the rest are scattered from SoMa to Nob Hill, Russian Hill and the Richmond, with a few in the southern neighborhoods such as the Excelsior. Oakland and San Mateo have their own pages, which helps if you commute across the bay or down the Peninsula and would rather train near work.

We've also brought Marin into this page. If you live north of the Golden Gate, Mill Valley, Corte Madera and Novato all have gyms, which saves you the bridge toll.
