The Best BJJ Gyms in Roseville, California

Think of this as our page for Sacramento's suburbs; Sacramento itself has a page of its own. Rocklin is the town with the most gyms, and Roseville, Lincoln and Auburn fill out the Placer County side. Most of the rest are over in Sacramento County, in places like Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks and Folsom, with Elk Grove south of the city and a few more gyms in El Dorado Hills.

Big-team affiliates are scarce here. Gracie Barra has an academy in Roseville and Checkmat has one in Folsom. Ares Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Primal Grounds Jiu Jitsu in Roseville and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Elk Grove are a few of the gyms people have reviewed most on Google. One thing to watch for: several gyms here are general martial arts schools with a BJJ program, so make sure the class you're looking at is jiu-jitsu rather than a mixed curriculum.

The area strings out along I-80, US-50 and Highway 99, and Elk Grove is a long way from Rocklin, so start with the gyms along your own stretch of freeway.
