The Best BJJ Gyms in Riverside, California

If you already train with one of the big teams, you'll probably find a familiar mat around Riverside. Gracie Barra's academies include Riverside, Chino and Upland. 10th Planet is in Corona and Riverside, with a third academy on Route 66, and Checkmat has affiliates in Riverside, Corona and Moreno Valley.

As that spread suggests, this page covers the western Inland Empire, not just Riverside. Riverside and Corona have the most gyms between them, with Norco next door and Moreno Valley out to the east, and the page crosses into San Bernardino County for Chino, Upland and Rancho Cucamonga. The Google reviews tilt that way too: Gracie Barra Chino and Gracie Barra Upland have the most, and Sektor Jiu Jitsu, also in Chino, isn't far behind.

Corona is where the 91 heads west through the Santa Ana Canyon into Orange County, so if you work over that way, the Anaheim and Irvine pages are worth a look. Just don't count on making that drive for an evening class. The canyon is notoriously slow at rush hour, so an Orange County gym only really works if it's near the office.
