The Best BJJ Gyms in Birmingham

Gracie Barra is the main team around here, with academies in Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield and as far out as Halesowen, Wolverhampton and Coventry. That's a fair preview of this page: we've widened it to the whole West Midlands rather than Birmingham alone.

Wolverhampton and Coventry each have a sizable cluster of their own, and there are more gyms across the Black Country, in West Bromwich, Walsall and Stourbridge, and in Solihull at Shirley and Chelmsley Wood. Within the city, academies are scattered through the neighborhoods: Balsall Heath, Kings Heath and Stirchley in the south, Small Heath and Ward End in the east, and Sutton Coldfield up north. On Google, the gyms people review most around here are Alba Jiu Jitsu in Sutton Coldfield, Sakura Grappling in Walsall and Wolverhampton's Eclipse Kickboxing, Boxing & Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

Quite a few gyms in the area are MMA gyms, so find the jiu-jitsu sessions on the schedule first. And look at the address before you commit: a gym in Coventry or Wolverhampton is its own trip from central Birmingham, even if it's an easy one by train.
