The BJJ Scene in Milan
Milan's jiu-jitsu spills well past the city line. North of the city, there are gyms in Sesto San Giovanni, Cinisello Balsamo and Paderno Dugnano, towns that run into Milan without a break, and on up to Monza. To the northwest, the page reaches out through Legnano to Gallarate.
The towns hold their own on Google. Bono Academy in Sesto San Giovanni has the most reviews of any gym here, with Ronin in Monza and Urban Arena Athletes Club in Gallarate behind it, so it's worth looking past the city limits even if you live in town. Within Milan itself, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Milano is the big-team name you'll probably know.
Sesto is a metro ride away, at the end of the red M1 line from the Duomo, and Monza, Legnano and Gallarate all have regular trains into the city. If you're flying out of Malpensa, Gallarate is close enough to the airport for one last class before your flight.
