The Best BJJ Gyms in Paris

In French, the sport usually goes by jiu-jitsu brésilien, or JJB, and those are the words to look for on a club's website or timetable. That matters here, because many of the busiest clubs in Paris are fight gyms that teach jiu-jitsu alongside MMA and other disciplines. With the mats shared, check when the jiu-jitsu sessions actually run before you make the trip.

We've rolled Paris and the suburbs around it into one page. Within the city, clubs are dotted across the arrondissements, with small concentrations in the 12th, 13th and 18th. Beyond the Périphérique, you'll find gyms to the north and east in Saint-Denis and Montreuil, to the southeast in Créteil and Vitry-sur-Seine, and to the west in Nanterre and Versailles.

Gracie Barra has a few academies in Paris, including Vaugirard and Champerret, and Nova União is represented in Noisy-le-Grand, but beyond that the scene is mostly independent. Le Cube Fight Club, MMA Factory Paris and NRFight Club rank high for Google reviews, and NRFight Club's schools in the 12th and 13th teach luta livre, the Brazilian no-gi grappling style.
