The BJJ Scene in Adelaide
Adelaide runs a long way from north to south, squeezed between the gulf and the hills, and its jiu-jitsu is spread along the whole length of it. The gyms with the most Google reviews show how far apart things can be: South Coast BJJ & MMA is down in Seaford, Armour BJJ is up in Smithfield, and Trinity MMA is in Klemzig, in the northeast. MMA is a big part of the scene here, too.
Very little of it is in the CBD. The northern suburbs have the widest spread, from Prospect and Gepps Cross out to Salisbury and Smithfield, while Klemzig, Holden Hill and Newton cover the northeast. Just west of the city, Thebarton and Torrensville sit side by side, with Brooklyn Park by the airport and Royal Park farther out. In the south, there are gyms in Edwardstown, Mitcham and Hove, then farther down at Morphett Vale and Seaford.
10th Planet has an Adelaide academy, and Zenith has a West Adelaide one. Before you choose, look at the map: Seaford and Smithfield are roughly an hour's drive apart, so where you live will narrow things down faster than any review count.
